Anne Thomasson

Anne is a GYROTONIC® Specialized Master Trainer and a GYROKINESIS® Pre-trainer. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and a NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT) Level 3 practitioner. She is the proud owner of her facility Gyrotonic St. Louis Central.

Anne is passionate about using her education in Gyrotonic to help those with special needs go beyond the art of exercise.  She believes in the efficacy of integrated therapies to maintain overall health and wellness.

Anne co-developed the course Gyrotonic Applications for Breast Cancer with Master Trainers Miriam Honorio and Fabiana Bernardes. A breast cancer survivor, Anne teaches a holistic approach to helping people reconnect with their bodies at all stages of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Background

Anne completed her Gyrotonic training in 2004 in Chicago with Master Trainer Juergen Bamberger. In 2005, she completed her Gyrotonic certification with Juliu Horvath. She has extensive training on all of the Specialized Equipment.  

She completed her Gyrokinesis training with Master Trainer Young-ah Kim in Lenox, MA in 2003 and her certification with Juliu in 2005. She teaches weekly group Gyrokinesis classes.

Additionally, Anne trained with Paul Horvath in Therapeutic Applications for Gyrotonic. She has special knowledge of Therapeutic Applications for Osteoporosis and Scoliosis.

She studied Gyrotonic Psoas Principles with Uwe Herbstreit for Scoliosis, Pelvic Girdle, and Shoulder Girdle Work.  

She has also completed specialized training for Gyrotonic Applications for Golfers, Dancers, and Elite Athletes.

Bodywork experience

Anne has been practicing massage since 1993 and is trained in deep tissue, sports massage, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, and reflexology.

She completed her certification in NeuroKinetic Therapy® under David Weinstock and Kathy Dooley.

Even after 25 years of performing massage therapy, exercise, and conditioning, she still considers herself a student, looking for ways to improve the strength and flexibility of the human body.
